Malay Wedding

Contrary to the western tradition, malay wedding is a four step system. They are merisik (asking ceremony), bertunang (engagement), akad nikah (the vow ceremony) and bersanding (where both the bride and her groom sit on the bridal couch)

Merisik
The man would ask his parents or his uncle to go and see the parents of the women he is interested to marry. A simple ring is given to the women's family. If the women accepts the ring it means the women has agreed to marry the man. If the women refuse to accept the man, the ring will be returned to the man's family.

Bertunang
The man would send his family to the bride's house to present her with the engagement ring and other gifts.

BUT nowadays people tend to merge the merisik and the bertunang ceremonies to save costs especially if the bride's and groom's hometown are far apart.

Akad Nikah
This is the day where the marriage vows take place. The ceremony is such that the groom would shake hand with the father of the bride or the Imam (the mosque head) to denote that the women is being married to the man. Then a wedding ring and mas kahwin is presented to the bride by the groom. Nowadays the mas kahwin is mainly in the form of money though it may be just a simple present that the groom must give to his bride. This is the ceremony where the bride and her groom is announced as husband and wife BUT there is no kissing ceremony like the western world.

Bersanding
According to Islam after the akad nikah both bride and groom are permitted to have sex and both man and women are presented with their individual responsibilities. But the Malays prefer the bersanding ceremony whereby both bride and groom would sit on a couch resembling the throne of a king. This is where it is made known to the whole world that they are married. Then there would be the "makan beradab" whereby both bride and groom eat with their parents and their in laws.

God willing inshaalah

Month Of MAY

Month of May is very important to me.

1) PROTON was set up on May 7th 1983

2)My auntie who died on September 8th 1998 was born on 7th May 1965

3)I have another auntie who died in a car crash near Gambang Kuantan Pahang on 6th May 1971.She was on her way to my grands in Kuantan when her taxi crashed. I hope I still remember her tombstone well. ALFATIHAH.

New Hire Purchase Act

Today Dec 2, 2011 - Still remember my fateful car crash on Dec 2, 1990 when I hit a cow and the front of my father's car was badly damaged.

New Hire Purchase Act

I think something is wrong with the new Hire Purchase Act passed by the parliament recently. I agree the need to inform the police if a particular car is to be repossessed BUT what puzzle me is the immediate depreciation of car prices. How can a RM35,000 car be sold at only RM7,000 after 6 years. It just doesn't make any sense.

The government must do something to correct this matter.

Christmas Shopping

I was listening to The Jets "Make it real" and eating an instant noodle tonight when I realized how fast time flies this year. Suddenly it is November.

Everyone should be doing some Christmas shopping by now. Malaysia is having Year End Sale, so for those of you who can afford it Come To Malaysia to do your Christmas shopping. I knew I have 21 Christmas presents unopened (since 1990)  but what can I do. I can't afford to go to Canada without  a sponsor.

Still remember a good friend of mine at Saskatoon airport told me before I left Saskatoon in October 1990 "Nizam send our regards to your folks and invite them to Saskatoon". But my abah is dead.

Happy Shopping

Qtr 3 GDP and 2012 BUDGET

Qtr 3 GDP 2011

BNM announced a convincing 5.8% GDP for 3Qtr 2011. 2nd Qtr 2011 GDP was revised to 4.3%. I am certain Malaysia could attain at least 5% GDP for 2011.

BUDGET 2012

PM Najib unveiled the 2012 budget on October 7th.  Honestly I was surprised with the bigger allocation but I have confidence in PM Najib. Obviously with a bigger allocation corporate or individual taxes could not be reduced. But I am concern with the increasing government debts although it is still managable. Since Malaysia is set to become a developed nation in 2020, I am not concern with the reduced FDI. A developed nation will invest its resources internally while excess profits will be chanelled overseas to create more wealth.

As with other Malaysians we know the government still has no guts to implement VAT. I doubt whether the opposition would implement it either should they win Putrajaya in the 13th general election. GST or Harmonized tax (Canada) if implemented is a recipe for disaster for any  government. Observe the defeat of the Liberals in Canadian election in the mid 1990s.

With regard to the RM429.1 Billion International Reserve, I think the government must set a limit to its reserve. Too much reserve is also a recipe for disaster. Its like our credit card limits. At CAD 500 it is managable but when it is increased to CAD 1000, it is the act to hang our own neck.
             Assets=Liabilities + Equities

Maybe it is time to merge the conventional tax and zakat into one system of taxes. I.e. for any Muslim who paid the zakat pendapatan (income tax) certain rebate would be given to his conventional individual taxes.
BECAUSE
taxes is like 'kaduk' leaves in Laksa, one of the famous Malay dish. There won't be any laksa unless there is 'Kaduk' leaves.

CHOOSING A WIFE - 2

She said I'm sorry Nizam.

I GUESS I will continue my Hajat and Istikarah sunat prayers. Maybe a new name will emerge. BUT the criteria is still either  a western blonde women or any Malay women who is western educated.

Tribute to Joe Frazier

I still remember my good old primary school days. Each time there is a boxing match, classes will be cancelled and the classrooms would turn into television room instead. It will be an energetic atmosphere for all of us especially if Muhammad Ali is one of the boxers. Maybe because Ali is a Muslim convert....

Rest in peace "Smokin Joe"

CHOOSING a wife

Few months ago

I was in my study. No new materials to be read. Wondering what to do I lie down. All of the sudden I feel so lonely. I said to myself it must be nice to have a women beside me. I tried the internet. Boring. So I switched off the lights and then suddenly I decided to pray the Hajat Sunat prayer. Sunat prayers are not obligatory but can be done for spiritual reasons.
In that sunat hajat prayer I prayed that God would give me a good wife. I do not care what creed, religion etc. If she is a non muslim then I will convert her to Islam. Islamic teachings said choosing  a wife is not  choosing the women from her family background or beauty but her knowledge and religion.I said I want a western blond wife or anyone who is western educated.
God answered my prayers. HE gave me a name, someone whom I knew in 1991 who is now  a widow with 2 kids. She is an engineer from a British university. Remember my auntie who died suddenly in Sept 1998. This lady is her room mate when they studied in London.
Later I prayed the sunat istikharah prayer. I asked God if she is the right one for me. I was not convinced since she is a few years older than me. But I remembered that Prophet Muhammad married Siti Khadijah who is 15 years older than the prophet. And not many Malaysians knew that PM Najib's wife is also a few years older than PM Najib.

NOW
To all readers who believe in God please pray with me so that she would consider marrying me. To my readers who are not god followers please help me morally so that when I asked her that big question she will say yes. And I will certainly be a very happy man.

CORRECTION from previous article

Paragraph 4 should read as--

4)The fact is Canada is also a constitutional monarchy like Malaysia. If Malaysia has the Agong as head of state, Queen Elizabeth 2 is Canada head of state BUT a governor general represents the queen in Canada. And if states in Malaysia have rulers or governors, each province in Canada has a lieutenant governor to represent the Queen. The parliament, judiciary and executive for both Malaysian and Canadian governments report to the respective Agong and governor general.

USA vs CANADA

1)Since I was small, the United States has always fascinated me. Not only from tv but also from stories I heard from my seniors at Sekolah Menengah Sains Negeri Sembilan Kuala Pilah.
2)Furthermore when my auntie followed her husband who worked at the Malaysian Permanent Representative to the United Nations New York, I was told of many great things about the US.I even wrote my auntie's New York address in my composition letter during my S.R.P. examination in 1982.
3)Not many people realized that USA and Canada are 2 different nations in North America. In fact some Malaysians said USA and Canada are the same which of course not true.
The parliament, judiciary and executive for both Malaysian and Canadian governments report to the respective Prime Ministers.
5)Canada is a nation with royalty but has many American values. For instance Canadians drive like the Americans while Malaysians drive like the British. Its good to experience American life with the Queen as the sovereign.
6)But in reality 3 out of 5 Canadians are anti Americans.(Based from my experience during the US Canada free trade debate in 1989)

UNTUKMU AISHAH

Aishah,

Aishah,
20 tahun tanpa berita darimu amatlah menghampakan. Aku sering bertanya apakah nanti tiada juga kemesraaan jika kita bertemu sepertimana tiadanya kemesraan sewaktu reunion Saskatchewan tahun 2003 yang lalu? Aku masih ingat sewaktu kita mula2 berkenalan di KPP/ITM  seksyen 2 Shah Alam dahulu. Kau amat pemalu tetapi aku seorang yang gila2.

Aishah,
Aku sedar siapa diriku.

Aishah,
Sengaja ku titipkan bingkisanku ini dalam blog
Agar semua orang tahu aku pernah mencintai seorang wanita bernama Aishah orang Johor
Aku berdoa semoga kita boleh berbicara di dalam email atau telefon, cuma aku tiada email dan nombor hpmu
Aku tetap mencintaimu dunia dan akhirat.
Semoga kau berbahagia.

KUALA PILAH CELAKA BABI

Masa aku sampai kat airport Subang 15 Okt 1990 aku punyalah excited nak balik KP sebab family aku baru pindah rumah baru. Tapi first thing yang aku dapat aku kena maki hamun kena ugut kat pasar basah Kuala Pilah . Celaka babi punya Kuala Pilah punya  tanahair.
Lepas tu bila aku accident 2 Dec 1990 (jubur lu lah) ada pulak cerita aku ambil benda setan sampai ada orang jumpa parents aku suruh aku masuk serenti. Celaka punya jubur. Bila aku cakap cakap dengan betina sundal Melayu ada pulak yang ugut. Aku tahu barua yang ugut aku tu. Dulu masa kat STJ aku tangkap barua2 tu hisap rokok so sekarang bila masing2 dah kerja dah ada kuasa nak balas dendam kat aku. Betultak? Burit punya AS 32.
Kau orang tahu tak hidup aku macam sial babi 20 tahun duduk KPilah ni? Dah lah kampung macam sial internet macam jubur bus service macam burit pelacur aku kena buat kerja berpeluh2 kutuk lagi. Mentang2lah kau orang ada ijazah kerja dalam aircond, apa kau orang cakap bau badan aku macam penagih? jubur kau oranglah. Lepas tu masing2 menunjuk2 depan aku sundal lawar, kereta mewah betul tak? CONVOCATION - Graduation

Imagine I am now at TCU. Names are called one by one. Finally my name is called and I walk myself to the Chancellor. The university president gladly give me my earned scroll. Presumably I am the only Malaysian who receive my scroll that day.

Humor?

1)I thought no one reads my blog. Someone asked me whether it was the correct date that I arrived at SAAS airport Oct 15th 1990 and my accident happened on Dec 2,1990. I have my International Passport which stamped arrival at SAAS 15 Oct 1990 , 29 May 1989 and a police report of the Dec 2,1990 accident.

2)Now that Chrysler has started to pay its loan to both the US and Ontario governments, the world auto industry is taking its feet again. I am sure Proton and Perodua will build better design and economical cars apart from having greener engines. Although I did not see Chevy Cruze at the 2010 KL Auto Show, I am sure Proton and Perodua can make as good cars as Chevys. Of course a poor farmer like me will still drive the low quality Perodua Kancil I bought in 2002.

3)Talking about cars I remember a teacher in primary school Mr Foo who owned a VW just like my father. Those days everyone who owned a VW would have boom boom engines(the noisy engine exhaust). Mr Foo would arrive at the school a few minutes before the bell rang, so when we heard the boom boom noise we knew Mr Foo was coming to school. My father's VW was producing a lesser exhaust sound.

4)I always regard May 29 as an important date. P Ramlee died May 29th 1973. Malaysia has proclaimed May 29 as Seniman Day to honor people like P Ramlee and his friends. Another figure that I like is A.R .Tompel. The movie "Ahmad Albab" which Tompel played an arrogant wealthy father gave me such a significant impact. A baby was born to a poor farmer who married the arrogant wealthy father's daughter but the baby never stop crying until that arrogant wealthy grandfather knocked on a door. Then the farmer was bestowed with a hidden treasure inside a cave.

SINCERITY

1)Where is sincerity in our modern world? By now my dear readers could guess whether I was sincere enough when I agreed to leave Canada in Oct 1990.
2)A politician in power would do his job but is he really honest for what he did? Another politician who is battling for power will make unrealistic promises in order to gain power.
3)A doctor with low pay at government hospitals will discharge his duties not 100% while a doctor  at a private hospital will always attend his patients in terms of monetary value first hand.
4)A Muslim scholar will use his knowledge to make himself popular so that people would consult him on matters pertaining to Islam. Sometimes we know his advice is contrary to the al sunnah wal jamaah.(sunni)

There is no more world of sincerity today. No matter what we do there is always some kind of rewards that we want. So do not talk to me about honesty and sincerity.

GDP
Bank Negara Malaysia announced a 4.6% GDP growth for quarter 1, 2011. I think the administration of PM Najib can have a better figure for the 2nd quarter.

Nuclear Energy
Recently there has been a protest by the residents of Kuantan, Pahang over a proposed set up of a plant which could discharge hazardous radioactive carbon or some kind. Previously I kind of like the idea of nuclear energy or plant BUT after the March 2011 tsunami and Fukushima tragedy in Japan I began to have reservations. True there is no quake in Malaysia but Kuantan Pahang Malaysia receives a lot of rain from October to January. I would love to pay less for my electricity bill but certainly I do not want to die by radioactive carbons. Kuantan is the place where I was born. At least once a year I would drive east to Kuantan. I do not want to develop any skin cancer after my visit to Kuantan. I think PM Najib should review the Lynas project. To me Lynas is a potential Chernobyl.

Marriage
Again people were asking me why I am still single at 43. My problem is I do not have a proper income to support a lady. Thus I know every women looks at me as a less desirable man to be with. Speaking about desire my lust is towards women. Someone asked me whether I approved LGBTs (lesbian gay bisexual transsexuals). My answer is NO. But I find no harm befriending this group. At University of Saskatchewan there was a Malaysian guy who likes to wear women's clothes. He even confessed to me that he wanted to have sex change. I have friends from this LGBT group but that does not meant I approved this kind of sexual orientation. Its like me a Muslim befriended a Christian guy. I will continue a Muslim and he will continue a Christian. I hope to meet a women who could accept me for what I am because I am nobody.

To answer LGBTs:-
I DO not belong to this group of LGBTs.  As an  ASIAN , LGBTs is a menace to the Asian culture.

The Accident

I must note that the Dec 2,1990 car crash was not the first one for me.On two occasions while renting a car in Canada I met with small accidents. Luckily I bought the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) on both occasions. So I just paid the rental fee.

In 1988 I rented a compact Hyundai Excel. It must be a drunk driver who hit the Hyundai door and it dented a little bit. Back then Hyundai was not a popular model for Canadians, so I rented it rather cheap. The second incident took place while driving a Chevy alone at night on my way to Winnipeg. I hit something maybe a pig or a goat.I made  a police report and continued my journey to Winnipeg where I switched for another car. I dared not touch the front bumper of that Chevy for fear it might be a pig that I hit.

This just came last night.

Suddenly I remember I was knocked down by a car near Bandar Hilir Melaka (Malacca) when I was in primary three. I can't remember the exact year maybe 1976 when my class teacher was Mrs Sim. I could still remember seeing the car axles as I was underneath the car engine. However I did not sustain any injury other than some bruises. We were staying in Tampin then about an hour drive to Melaka. My father brought me to Tampin District Hospital later. I guess the car was running slow. Otherwise I maybe gone then and not able to meet Bev and her family. I still wonder why my father did not bring me to Melaka General Hospital instead.

Education

As a son I really valued the way my father was towards education. I remember in primary one 1974 at Sekolah Rendah Tunku Besar Tampin Negeri Sembilan I was warded for malaria. After I was discharged from the hospital I was so afraid to go to school again. My father dragged me into the car and sent me to school. When he left I suddenly remember I forgot my school bag. My class teacher Mrs Krishnan quickly punished me. Mrs K knew my father because he was a senior assistant at another school within the same district. So when I told my father later that day she scolded me my father replied I deserved it. Those days parents do not care much if teachers spank or pulled a pupil's ear as long as there was no broken bones and no deaths.

I could not remember how many times my father took the Higher School Certificate HSC (STP) examination. Finally he was admitted into Teachers Association twinning program with National University Jakarta Indonesia. My grandfather was a poor peasant and a mudim (circumcision man). I knew my father was smart but he was not allowed to go English school for fear of being an apostate. But he did go to a Japanese school during the 2nd world war.I remember he sang the Japanese song "Miyato okaino sora ai kete" many times to his grandson at the hotel room a few days before he passed. The irony was, his last posting as a teacher was at Sekolah Rendah St Aidan Bahau (the English missionary school that he was supposed to attend as a child)

Yet when my father tried to go to Sultan Idris Teachers College ( SITC ) in Tanjung Malim (now UPSI )he did not get a place. He chose to go to Pahang, stayed with a relative and finally able to go to SITC in 1955. Back then SITC was the only institution in Malaya. The British created SITC in 1922  with the aim to make Malays better readers than their parents as most Malays then were illiterate. I was looking at his SITC certificate,no flying colors but it was better than have nothing i.e.empty handed like me. My father could not speak fluent English but he reads English newspapers. However my mother has Senior Cambridge qualification.

I couldn't care less anyone who reads my blog complaining about my English. My English is good not like some distant cousins of mine who studied in Egypt but could not speak fluent Arabic.

In order to improve my English while attending University of Saskatchewan I asked the help from my friend BEVERLY. I knew Bev by chance while waiting for my Sociology class. There was a class project paper on hand and I needed someone to proof read it before submission to my instructor Leslie Biggs. Bev agreed to proof read my paper and said I owed her nothing. When she finally gave me back my paper I was surprised when she gave me a cleaned paper. There was no pencil trace or red marks what so ever. It irks me at first so when Bev asked me to have coffee with her I quickly agreed. It must have been the longest one hour coffee break that I have with Bev.I thought she never read my paper but then I realized I myself had difficulties answering her questions as if I'm defending my thesis project. It turned out Bev was an English tutor not a student as I had initially thought.
She had been an exchanged student in Sumatera before so throughout our three-year-friendship ,Bev was speaking Indonesian Malay to me while I talked in English. The way she reread my thoughts was different from my lecturers at College of Preparatory Studies ITM (now UiTM) Shah Alam Selangor when I did my South Australian Matriculation. The lecturers at ITM not only left red marks on my paper but instead rewrite the whole paragraph. In the end the papers I wrote and presented while in ITM were only 50% of my original ideas.

In the summer of 1988 I took the English 115.3 class under Mrs Claire Lipscombe. The Malaysians made up most of the class. So it was easy to postpone the morning class to afternoon instead  as we were celebrating the end of Ramadan (Aidil Fitri). I don't know how I got through that class. It was summer and the blonde girl in front of me was wearing a very tight short and see through blouse. I remember Claire would always call the male students to look at her instead of the blonde girl every now and then.

The Royal Wedding

1)First let me congratulate Prince William Duke of Cambridge and his beautiful consort, Kate for their memorable wedding.
2)The Yang Dipertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia was at Westminster Abbey yesterday. They are still Muslims!

I was reading my 1981 diary just now. When Lady Diana and Prince Charles tied their knots on July 29th 1981, it was the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. I was only 14 in 1981 and during the Duke of Cambridge parents wedding I was in form two (secondary two) at Sekolah Menengah Sains Negeri Sembilan Kuala Pilah Gentam. Back then there was no paid tv in Malaysia or even a private tv station. We just watched the recordings from  RTM.

The Black Sheep

1) When the MSD officers in Toronto told me to go back to Malaysia in Oct 1990, I refused because I knew I would be the black sheep of not only my family but to other Malaysians as well. I still wonder what made me agreed to leave Saskatoon with just a hand luggage. I left behind my personal belongings, textbooks, gifts, valuable class notes and of course the heart of Saskatoon people.
2) During my summer vacation from May 29th 1989 to August 21,1989 I went back to Malaysia briefly.Back then everything was nice. People said to their children " Look at him, study hard so that you could study overseas like him" .Some even invited me to their homes showing their young virgin daughters.
3) But when this black sheep came back to Malaysia in October 1990, everyone laughed at this black sheep. The dialogue was "Don't be like him. He is a bad man , an apostate. He is a failure face (muka kantoi) and don't ever go near him because he has Aids. (One reason of the Dec 2,1990 car crash)
4) Now I remember during the night of the accident my late father was not concerned about my safety but instead asked me how to claim insurance on his wreckage low quality Proton Saga car. No wonder why he left all his properties to his siblings and not to me his eldest son.
5) I know because of me the government decided to stop sending students to study abroad especially in western countries.
                                     THE BLACK SHEEP----
6) But people may think with all their blackmagic they could have my mind and soul. I knew that because someone asked me who was the Saskatoon mayor then. I answered "Mayor Henry Dayday" and they laughed at me. They said I was wrong. I knew I was correct because I double check City of Saskatoon former mayors and there was Henry Dayday 1988-2000. (wikipedia - List of Mayors of Saskatoon)
7) No matter what I do Malaysians will always regard me as the black sheep of Malaysians studying abroad.

MUNAFIK

Well, if Malaysians accused me of being an apostate then other Malaysians especially the MSD people are munafik (equivalent to apostate too) BECAUSE they promised me it would be just a short stay in Malaysia not 20 years. They promised me the PSD would send me back to Canada the most after one year in Malaysia ,not 20 years.

I CURSE that those Malaysian students studying in Egypt the government paid for their flights recently after the fall of Mubarak ..............
I CURSE THEM TO FAIL THEIR STUDIES.

Wasting Tax Payers' Money?

Malaysia is hosting yet another Formula One race in Sepang this weekend. But somehow I forgot to watch it on tv yesterday. The thought of watching F1 live at Sepang circuit has always been in my mind but the ticket is too costly. Believe me F1 is only for the elites, bourgeois and the rich NOT for a poor farmer like me. I would rather spend the money which is a third of my annual farm sales to buy Big Macs. However F1 race must continue in Malaysia because it is good for the foreign exchange income.

The Conflicts
After my car crash December 2,1990 I encountered many confusing events. Once I met a guy who said he studied at University of Saskatchewan with me but I could barely knew him. I knew that the other 24 Malaysians would come back to Malaysia the earliest in September 1991. So I disregard him- not to mention I had to pay his teh tarik too.

The 20-year-old conflict with Malaysians will continue BUT one day I will leave Malaysia. Canada is my destination. Although I have no money now, I know Allah will provide me the way to leave Malaysia. To Malaysians my gesture still as if I find it so hard to leave Malaysia but the fact is I am ready to go to Canada again a long time ago.

Some Malaysians said I wasted tax payers' money by coming back empty handed to Malaysia but the real people who wasted tax payers' money were the University Utara Malaysia UUM lecturers and the diplomats at Malaysian Students Department. During my 3 years in Canada, at least 15 UUM lecturers came to Saskatoon. Initially I thought they really came to do some research but the fact is they were spying on me. Believe me they came to Saskatoon at least in business class flights. I knew that because once as I was carrying their luggage I came across their flight tickets. I was their 'Coolie' for their rides and even I have to spend my scholarships to buy their foods.

BUT
When I went to UUM last year to attend my sister's MBA convocation, not even one UUM lecturers dared to meet me. I could see their faces but they just ignored me(just like every other Malaysians). Don't mention about teh tarik because mineral water is absent as well. I understand they are elites who drive imported cars, wore Paris suits and Clarks shoes.I was not their standard. But it was this Malay coolie whom they bullied while sight seeing in Saskatoon. They are wasting tax payers' money but NOT ME.
The UUM lecturers mission to Saskatoon was to spy on me, find the mistake that I made in Saskatoon and recommend to the PSD to send me back to Malaysia and become a coolie again.

AND TO ALL YOU UUM LECTURES WITH Phd or WITHOUT
1) Having a surplus balance of payments does not necessary mean the federal government budget is surplus too because BOP and Federal Budget are two separate SHITS.
2) UUM MBA degrees are inferior because even until now my sister is yet to gain an increment in her salary.

One day I will go to Saskatoon again as a complete stranger because all those people that I knew were gone forever. Maybe a picnic at Pike Lake will sooth my mine...........

Malay Bible

Finally the Najib premiership has embarked on the most important decision regarding race relations in Malaysia. It was decided that the holy 'Bible' can be published in any languages including Malay provided for the Peninsular Malaysia edition it must print "For Christians Only".

I remember while checking into hotel and motel rooms either in Hong Kong or Canada I could find a copy of the holy bible in one of the cupboards. But I cannot find any copy of the holy Quran when I checked into hotel rooms in Malaysia.

It is the same for the use of the word 'Allah' for god. Although the courts are still undecided over the issue of the word 'Allah' for churches, I find no harm if the churches want to use the word 'Allah' for god. Malaysians are more educated nowadays. Of course the issue of Islam as the official religion and the special rights of the Malays provided in the Federal Constitution will be the aspects in which the verdict of the word 'Allah' will be based upon.

But I am a Malay of suku Biduanda. I eat with my right hand. I find it awkward to eat with fork, knife and spoon. I speak Malay. I take off my shoes at home.My parents are Malays but why can't I get an extension for my Canadian studies scholarship?
Answer: Simply because I refuse to marry a Malay women who apparently is a relative of mine.

The rhythm of song "Selamat Tinggal" by Broery is going deeper and deeper into my soul.

New Credit Card Ruling

Bank Negara Malaysia (www.bnm.gov.my) on 18th March 2011 announced a new ruling for credit card applications. Now the minimum income requirement has been increased to RM24,000 per annum from RM18,000 annually.

Now a person can only have two credit cards from a bank. Taking into account the number of banks in Malaysia, I truly lauded this move.

The use of SMS alert for every transaction commencing 1 January 2012 is a good innovation. However I am not sure about the P.I.N. requirement for every transaction beginning 1 January 2015. Is the PIN required for the worldwide transaction or is it just for transactions in Malaysia only?

No One Cares

Since October 15th 1990, I have never met one single Malaysian asking me "Nizam, when would you would like to go to Canada again?" But instead I got a letter demanding RM70,000. That is the first SHIT. No one cares about my studies. The Malaysian Students Department officers were  busy playing golf ,polishing their Mercedes and have second or subsequent wives.

SHIT Number Two
The academic year for University of Saskatchewan starts in September every year. I came back in October 1990. What did I do between August 1990 to October 12th 1990? Playing with my penis hah?

SHIT Number 3
Who the bloody hell those students from Egypt whom the Malaysian government paid their trip home recently because of Mubarak the dictator? They were received at KLIA Vip terminal. Who the hell they are? Rulers, ministers or just 10,000 stupid dumb Syiah followers. In addition the government still pay their airline fares back to Egypt with RM500 cash. My god! You dumb politicians.

SHIT Number 4
I am not sick. Now I realized that I am not sick. If I look sick that is because I have been in this uncivilized country of mine for the last 20 years. I want to see the world.
Those interviewers at Putrajaya who interviewed me on April 15th 2003 were dumb as well. Continue my studies in a low class government or private Malaysian universities and learn back from scratch. Idiots!

Shit Number 5
I am a straight person. My sexual orientation is towards women. I do not like ass holes! Its full of shits.

What about my Canadian studies? You bastard politicians.

I AM NOT ACTING

For the last 20 years I have tried to find ways to go to Canada again. Guess what Malaysians said.. "I am acting"
Allah is my God and Muhammad is His prophet
Right from the moment I stepped out from the aircraft at SAAS Airport on 15th Oct 1990, I said to myself one day I'm going to Canada again and I will.
Malaysians who read my blog said I was acting. No people. I am not acting. If I have the money I would leave Malaysia in under 72 hours. I do not act. Believe me people!

WHY NIZAMVAL?

Now that I know a few Malaysians are following my blog, people were asking why I chose 'Nizamval' as my blog address. First the address 'nizam' was taken. So to get my full name I just write nizam then abbreviation A for Abdul and L for Latip my surname. I purposely did not write SAIFUL because as you all know I'm a born loser. Nothing that I do is successful. (Just like those interviewers said to me during my JPA or PSD interview in 1985 when I was 17th) My name SAIFUL is closed to the word successful. Since I am not a successful man I just leave the name SAIFUL.

V denotes versus. So nizamval is meant, I always fight with my late father diplomatically so that I could go to Canada again. I remember as I was driving my father to the hospital on that fateful day of December 30th,  2008, I kept on mentioning Syahadah(first pillar of Islam) and Canada to my father. I could read his lips saying "take care of my mother" and I told my dad to syahadah and I will go to Canada again.

REUNION
As I said before I thank my fellow 24 Malaysians who went to Canada with me for not inviting me to any of the reunion gathering. I understand I just drive a cheap Perodua Kancil, work in sweats, no suits and tie, no girlfriends and friends, don't like to mingle around with people, a born loser, I don't know table etiquette and could barely make RM6,000 per annum. Read with your eyes people "I could barely make RM6,000 per annum income in Malaysia". So it will not make any difference if I go to Canada and become a beggar.I am staying with my mother and sister now. When my mother dies, I know my sister will evict me out from this house. So it doesn't matter if I go to Canada and my landlord evicted me out from my apartment because I could not pay the rent.By the way, I WAS NEVER ever EVICTED from my room or apartment by my landlord during my three-year-stay in Canada.

So readers

FRIENDS 2

I know I have many laughing friends but I do not have a friend to cry upon in Malaysia and I do not intend to find one. My Canadian friends treated me better than Malaysians.

FRIENDS

It is now midnight in Malaysia. I must admit I am lonely but who would want to make friends with me. I'm a nobody and poor. I had a facebook account once but I closed it later.

Listening to an Indonesian singer Broery Marantika singing Selamat Tinggal, I keep wondering will God ever answer my prayers. Looks like it has been 20 years of praying. I will continue to pray so that I could leave Malaysia and say 'Selamat Tinggal' to Malaysians who hated me so much.

I thank those who went to study in Canada with me for deserting me for the past 20 years. Maybe watching the rerun of sitcom 'Friends' is the only answer.

FINANCE Magazine

I thank God that today I received the Global Finance magazine by ordinary mail delivered by Pos Malaysia. The last Global Finance magazine which I received was in May 2010. I wonder where were those issues from June 2010 to January 2011? Who took it and why?

CORRECTION
The sentence on KPDNHEP from my previous article SHOULD BE READ as " I propose that baby milk and pampers be made controlled items by the KPDNKK". I'm still young, guys!!

GDP 2010 at 7.2%

When Bank Negara Malaysia released the 4th quarter GDP 2010 at 4.8%, my reaction was ok. Achieving 7.2% annually for 2010 GDP was a success for Najib's administration.

My instincts say for 2011 even if the crude oil prices shot up to USD 147, Malaysia could at least maintain a GDP of 5%. Of course I have no proper charts and technical analysis, it was just a cross of my mind.

The introduction of 70% limit on 3rd house purchase for a borrower is very interesting. I do not own a house thus maybe I can have a 90% loan if I want to buy a condo provided I have a steady flow of income. The term LTV was not in my mind for quite sometime. Maybe LTV can be used for a borrower who wants to buy a second car too.

As in the early 1990s, I am calling PM Najib to review the CPI subsectors more thoroughly. Beside food and beverages, other expenses must also be included such as bus and LRT fares, toll and even essential items for machine maintenance( tires, engine oils, traffic tickets etc). For instance for a 5 sen increase of Ron 95 gas price, every other sector of the economy will also charge 5 sen extra. I propose baby milk and pampers be made controlled items by the KPDNHEP.

There has been voices that the government intend to use tax payers money to send back students to Egypt to complete their studies. It is a stupid move. Most of their parents own non national cars and non national cars are more expensive to buy. If their parents can afford to buy cars other than Proton or Perodua it meant they have money. The government has done a good move by bringing home those students safely to Malaysia. And they were transported back to their homes from KLIA in imported cars, mpvs and suvs. Their parents are rich. PM Najib's government must not use taxpayers money for those students to return to Egypt. v

The Yellow Culture

It has been years since I saw a cultural show. I don't usually peek at any cultural show. But yesterday while sight seeing at a local shopping mall in Seremban I saw the LION DANCE performance.

I cannot recall while attending 3 years of business school in Canada that I have ever watched a live lion dance performance. For every International Students Week show normally held in January every year that I attended in 1988, 1989 and 1990 there was no lion dance show. Its kind of weird that fellow students from the great wall did not know about lion dance when I asked them. Anyway I enjoyed the show.

I have never been to Egypt or any of the gulf states. A few years ago when the internet made its way into Malaysian minds, it was decided that the only way to counter the so called bad western influence i.e. the yellow culture was by diverting the routes Malaysian students were heading. Thus thousands were sent abroad to study in the Arab fraternities. Then after a few years it was realized that those students have changed their faiths.

I do not meant being an apostate but most of them have changed their school of thoughts i.e. from sunni to syiah. That is why nowadays there are many Malaysian men who wear the jubah and serban like the Arabs and Malaysian women wear the purdah instead of just the normal jilbab
(tudung). To me wearing clothes is just the ordinary garments and not following the Arabs.

Bear in mind that not only western countries have naked bars and not all Arabs are Muslims. I know some Arab nations have entertainment premises which serve alcohol and semi naked waitresses who dance 'gelek'.

The problem with Malaysians is the obsession of the word Islam. Anything that bears no 'ISLAMIC' phrase is not Islam which is stupid. There are banks in Malaysia which has no Islamic phrase on its title but is fully operational according to syariah. If a women does not wear the veil or you do not join a particular group then you cannot even reside in certain states.

People asked me if I ever is interested in Malaysian women and must she wear the veil. My answer is not necessary. I find beauty when women wears the veil and when she lets me see her hair. The point is I have never met any Malaysian women who adhere to my tastes. Most Malaysian women that I met tend to take advantage of me since I am nobody , you know like the master and slave.

I guess that answers the question whether I am a moderate Muslim or not.

The Suit

It is now half past one in the morning. Want to know why I cannot sleep?
Now I remember some of the weird events at the then SAAS airport KL on October 15th 1990.No wonder those immigration and custom personnel was rude to me. They asked me why I did not have my tie though I did have my jacket on?
I told those immigration and custom people I will be in Malaysia for a while but they laughed and looked at me like shit.Right from the very beginning I was bullied.Nothing said is nice about me since then.
NOW
I swear to God the next time I fly out from KL I will wear my jeans and t shirt. This is because I was accused of carrying bad Malaysian image when I was abroad from 1987 to 1990.
The Suit will always be remembered!

Proton Inspira and Students

Inspira
I must admit I am surprised by the overwhelming response of the Inspira which is a rebadge of Lancer. It seems that Japanese technology still have the upper hand on Malaysians. The management of Proton must take note on this matter. As for me I cannot afford the Inspira.

Students
Due to the uprising in Egypt, PM Najib has made a bold decision by bringing home more than 3000 students studying in Egypt back to Malaysia. It is to my understanding that the hefty bill of millions in ringgit is second to the safety of Malaysians abroad. The government must send back these students to Egypt to complete their studies when the situation improves. If the government still want to leave my name from being send back to Canada, its OK with me because I'm used to it. But think about those future physicians. Cutting one's head is nothing compared to 3000.I am not important thus I just need the Malaysian passport at KLIA.
BUT COMPARE
In 1990 when I was forced to leave Canada, the political situation in Canada and Saskatoon was calm. There was no upheavals, no riots, I was not a failure, I am still a Muslim  and single. The only hick ups then was Canadians uneasiness of PM Mulroney ,Premier Devine and Hon Romanow.

VALENTINE'S DAY
In 1989 when I went back to Malaysia briefly, the opposition of Valentine's Day was small in nature. In 1990 when I've made known of my decision to have a Canadian Caucasian bride, all of the sudden the Islamic scholars of Malaysia said it is HARAM to celebrate Feb 14th. The problem is what if someone's birthday is on Valentine's Day. Obviously any Muslim in Malaysia who was born on Feb 14th CANNOT celebrate their birthday since it concurrent with Valentine's Day.Believe me, I can celebrate Valentine's Day if the women is a relative of mine.

I am a Muslim and I 'm celebrating Valentine's Day.

A Proud Malay

As a Malaysian from the Negeri Sembilan Malay ethnic group of Biduanda Waris on my mother's side and Tanah Datar on my father's, it was such a proud moment when you hear a foreigner speaking your mother tongue.

After searching endlessly for her dvd, I managed to watch the movie Eat, Pray , Love starred by Julia Robert my favorite actress. Even a simple "Terima Kasih" which Julia Robert said has boosted my Malay ego.

Till then!

Repair or Replace

Repair or replace. That was the opportunity cost dilemma which I faced a few weeks ago. I was at a Castrol workshop to change the engine oil of my not proud Perodua Kancil when it was found that my brake fluid leaked like shit.

The mechanic asked me to replace the brake pumps which I did. But the other part of the story is I have used all the money I saved in case I have to go to the hospital again or if I'm warded at any government hospital.

Of course a COMMONER like me cannot afford to go to a private hospital. If I'm rich I wouldn't have let the stupid doctors at IJN to operate my late father. I would have brought my father to the best hospital in Canada to be operated by the world's best surgeons. Not to be operated by some low class Malaysian doctors. The stupid IJN doctors only gave my father 5 extra years and they were so damn proud of that 5 years.

Of course as a COMMONER the police is interested to know why I was speeding on the way to the HTAN on that Tuesday afternoon of December 30th 2008. But I wonder why I have to yell at the Emergency staff for a stretcher. Answer: Because my father was a nobody. Of course if Tun Dr Mahathir coughs, 10 doctors will surround him immediately.

If I'm rich, I would not have bought the inferior National Cars because in Malaysia people looked down at you if you drive a Proton or Perodua.

The Palace

I am now 43years old. At this age other than preparing for the next life, my mind is set to find as much money as possible. Owning a house is one of them. Of course I'm interested to buy either an apartment or a condominium.
The house will be a palace for me when I'm  old.

I have never been inside a palace of any kind whether in Malaysia or Canada. As a COMMONER with no title, who am I to get invited to any of the nine royal palaces in Malaysia.

Back to my dream home. Obviously my dream house which I viewed while in Saskatoon will just be a dream. But I like the location which is just near  The Mall at Lawson Heights. Owning a condo in greater Kuala Lumpur will be expensive because even a three bedroom condo is priced more than RM400 K at least.

This is what the Malay proverb says
"Angan2 Mat Jenin" (I don't know the exact English translation but it is closed to meant don't dream for what you can never ever get)

Will I ever gonna own my own place? God willing! That will be my palace.

Continuation............

There were some other sayings which I forgot to write in my last article. Most profound was that I went to Canada and brought back a 'Minah Salleh' waitress to Malaysia. The reason being there were many famous Malaysians who went abroad to study brought back western women whom they met at bars and pubs.

Another, was the reason why that Dec 2, 1990 accident happened. I was not drunk on that day. Remember every Dec 1st is World Aids day. Some people who knew me well said I'm supposed to come back to Malaysia in 1991 BUT I came back in 1990 because I had HIV. Now! that really hurts even until today.

Not to mention when people said I have a different sex orientation since their efforts to match me with some female relatives went futile.

I have only two women in my heart. One is a Malay women from Johor Bharu and another is a Caucasian Canadian from Outlook Saskatchewan Canada. Both women are now married with kids.

Till then!

2011 A.D.

Today is the 7th day of 2011. In terms of new year resolution I don't have any because since January 1st 1991, I have stopped from making any new year resolution. Why?

My car crash December 2, 1990 was the turning point. I said to myself there must be a solid reason for me ramming into those cows. I'm a competent driver yet the accident had erased most of my memories. Why I could not remember anything about Saskatoon all of the sudden? And why at one time I can't remember that I even went to Canada?

The reason was jealousy. There were sayings such as he won't even make it to the second year, he will come back as a musician with wife and kids and none what so ever the word of he will get his degree. I don't bullshit other peoples lives but people bullshit my life for the last 20 years. Not to mention when I bought my Perodua Kancil in 2002. Did he sell ***? Aren't he afraid of the death penalty?

The famous Malay cum Negri Sembilan word is 'JOBO' sort of arrogant in English. Believe me it is not proud to own that small Kancil, it is a necessity. People who knew me from primary school will tell that I don't like to talk a lot. Even after I have paid off my car loan more than a year ago, those people still want to bullshit me by having many buses stopped in front of my folks home. They thought they could be cynical to me! I am not allowed to own a car but other people can have whatever they want. Idiots!

This is the attitude which I don't like about MALAYsians. Unless you relented to their demands, you will be attacked mentally and not to mention physically.Reason, to remind me of my roots. Guess what, maybe I should read that Alex Haley's novel again.

I DOUBT Malaysia will ever achieve the developed status by 2020.

SO IT WAS TRUE. IT WAS MY GREAT GREAT GRAND DAD PAHLAWAN ADI WHO WAS IN MY DREAM.
